In July 2019, we found out that my wife Lauren's breast cancer had spread to her bones and was now considered terminal or 'Life Limiting' as it was called when we received the devastating news. Like most we tended to live month to month and with no life insurance we turned to crowdfunding to help us to tick off as many of Lauren's bucket list items as we could. Fast forward a year and we were dealt a double blow when in July 2020 I was made redundant on the same day that we were told that Lauren would no longer be able to receive any further treatment and our crowdfunding campaign caught a second wind.
